Help Center - CANalyzer Level 2

2-16. Acknowledge Setting

As described by the CAN protocol, every node on the network acknowledges or “votes” that each message has been transmitted correctly.  CANalyzer can either be a fully participating node that is able to send and receive messages, or it can be a simple “listen only” device that does not participate in the acknowledge process.

Where is this setting located?

From the configuration menu, click on Hardware Configuration, then expand the CAN Channel.  Click on setup, and uncheck the Acknowledge On section in the center of the setup screen.

Can CANalyzer still send messages while operating in “listen only” mode?

No, with the acknowledge disabled, the CANayzer cannot send any data, only view messages.
