When creating a new configuration by clicking on the File menu and selecting “New configuration” the Template window will appear. CANoe comes with some basic templates already created. These templates contain some of the standard baudrates already setup.
What does a template contain?
A template can contain anything that a standard configuration can contain. Any of the blocks can be saved in a template as well as any baudrate settings or window placements.
Can I make my own?
With CANoe it's easy to create and save new templates. These templates are normal configuration files that are stored with a different file extension (*.tcn). All templates have to be stored in the templates directory of your CANoe installation.
The easiest way to create a template is to use an existing configuration and save it under a different file name. With File|Save Configuration as… you open a dialog in which you can select CANoe template as the storage format. Finally save the template to the templates folder.
