What is an Operating System?

An Operating System is a program to control all organizational activities within a computer or the connected periphery.

Where does the Operating Sytem work?

In the automotive environment the operating system is running on the ECUs. Those operating systems are highly memory optimized for the usage on microcontrollers.

How does an Operating System work?

The operating sytem runs in the background and provides a basic runtime environment for your application. Tasks, Alarms and Events are the "tools" to be used by the application.
